On August 13th, YPC stayed at the Kimpton Shinjuku hotel, located at 3 Chome-4-7 Nishishinjuku, Shinjuku City, in Tokyo. The Kimpton Shinjuku is a relatively new hotel, having opened in 2020, and it boasts a modern, New York-themed aesthetic. One unique feature of the hotel is that it is pet-friendly, and YPC encountered many adorable furry guests during their stay.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted in a comfortable seating area where they can relax during the check-in process. It's worth noting that the hotel has a "secret code" that guests can use to receive special perks during their stay. During YPC's visit, the secret code was "Stay Cool," which they were able to use to obtain a complimentary non-alcoholic drink at The Jones Cafe, located on the ground floor next to the lobby.

After checking in, YPC and their companion settled into their room, which was an upgraded King Bed Premium with a city view. The room was spacious, measuring 33 square meters, and had a separate bath and walk-in shower. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and YPC enjoyed a great night's sleep.

The Kimpton Shinjuku also offers complimentary coffee (hot or cold) to go in the morning, and YPC highly recommends the hot Matcha Latte. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near the JR Shinjuku station and several convenience stores, making it a great choice for travelers looking for a central location.

Another amenity that YPC enjoyed was the Lululemon Yoga Mat provided in the room. The tablet also included access to yoga videos, making it easy to practice yoga and relax in the comfort of their own room.

Now, let me explain about the “Secret code”.

Whenever you stay in a Kimpton, you should search if they have a secret code. It was “Stay Cool” during my stay. You just need to say it to the check-in person. We got a free non-alcohol drink at The Jones Cafe, which is located on the ground floor next to the lobby.

We ordered citrus and lavender drinks and they were so refreshing for the summer.

Please don’t forget that you can also get free coffee (hot/cold) to go for free in the morning. They tasted amazing and I recommend the hot Matcha Latte.

Overall, YPC had a fantastic experience at the Kimpton Shinjuku. The hotel is only two years old, and as such, is very clean and modern. The staff is multilingual and friendly, making it a great choice for travelers who may not be fluent in Japanese. YPC would definitely consider staying at the Kimpton Shinjuku again in the future.
