April 16, 2022

Address: 〒248-0005 Kanagawa, Kamakura, Yukinoshita, 1 Chome−6−4 濱照ラフイネビル2F

Open Hour: Weekday 11am to 5:30pm and Weekend 11am to 6:30pm

Cost: 900 Yen for 30 minutes

Use the east exit from Kamakura station and enter the street with the red gate. That’s the most fun street you will find in Kamakura. There are many street food, restaurant, souvenir shops and art store that you can find. It is a fun tourist place for both Japanese and foreigners. The Great Buddha of Kamakura (鎌倉大仏, Kamakura DaibutsuKōtoku-in) is located on the opposite side of the station.

The Mameshiba cafe is located on the left side of the street and it takes about 5 minutes after you enter the main street. You will find the big sign of the cute mameshiba and you can hardly miss it. The cafe is on the second floor.

1) First, you will need to buy the ticket which will cost 900 Yen per adult for 30 minutes, including 1 drink per person. (Cash or Paypay only)

2) Then the staffs will let you know when you can enter the cafe. They let people go in and out every half hour. It will be the perfect if you can get there when they open (11am); otherwise it could be quite busy, especially on the weekend.

3) If the cafe is too crowded, they may ask you to return in a specific time. Please don’t lose your receipt.

4) Enjoy your time with mameshiba. To be honest, 30 minutes is not enough.

We finally arrived to the mameshiba café. This is ticket counter and waiting area to go into the café. The sign is the introduction of the dog staffs. Look at how cute they are.

The staffs will explain some rules before you enter to the café. You will need to remove your shoes and put aside your belonging in the designated area. You cannot bring your own dogs to the café, do not feed them, camera is ok but do not use flash light.

We arrived at 11:25am. It was a perfect timing that we can join the 11:30pm group. Your group number is written on the receipt and we were number 7. Your number will be called when your session is over. They opened at 11am and there were already 4-6 groups in the 11am session. Please try to visit as early as prossible.

Finally we got in and see them. The café is very spacious, clean and comfortable. All of dogs are so adorable, also super friendly.

There are 3 drink machines in the cafe. You probably will be too busy to pay attention to dogs and have no time to enjoy your drinks.

There is also a sink you can wash your hands and a restroom you can use.

The staffs will carry the dog and introduce to you, so you can get to know them and take a lot of pictures.

Time is over. I would definitely come back again.
